About Us
Real Food. Real Adventure. Really Australian.
Outback Bites wasn't dreamed up in a boardroom — it was born on the goldfields of Western Australia.

Before there was a business, founder Mark spent 18 months prospecting for gold around Kalgoorlie, Leonora and Laverton, and travelling the length of Australia. Out that far, food is a daily problem to solve: fresh fruit and vegetables don't survive the heat and the distances, and living out of an esky gets old fast. What Mark wanted didn't exist — real Australian food that weighed next to nothing, needed no fridge, and would still be good months down the track. That problem became Outback Bites.
Food discipline learned the hard way
Mark's food credentials run deeper than the bush. He spent three years training McDonald's franchisees in food handling and process compliance nationally, during the chain's early establishment in Australia — food-safety and systems discipline learned inside one of the world's most process-driven food operators. That's the standard behind everything we do today: reverse osmosis–filtered washing, careful batch processing, oxygen-absorber packing, and honest labelling.
Built to scale, run with care
Mark is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of building national businesses — he co-founded On The Move Pty Ltd and scaled it to a successful trade sale to a major power company, with a background in telecommunications infrastructure and mechanical systems. In practice, that means Outback Bites is a small business run with big-business discipline.
Why Australian-only produce?
Because we can stand behind it. Sourcing exclusively Australian-grown fruit and vegetables means we know where every batch comes from, it's processed close to harvest at peak freshness, and every packet supports Australian growers. Nothing imported, nothing artificial — ever.
